Official Bio
For Meg Bowman, nutrition is a vocation. She's quietly (sometimes loudly) disruptive of diet culture BS and enjoys helping her clients and supervisees find their power. She sees clients with eating behavior, mental health, and GI challenges using a weight-inclusive functional medicine lens. As co-founder and clinical supervisor at Clinician's Incubator, she provides case consultations and mentoring for nutrition professionals. She loves dogs, books, and tea, along with a good joke and well-placed swear word. Learn more about Meg here, and find her on Facebook @nutritionhive and Instagram @nutritionhive.heath.
Interview Topics
Trauma or mental health nutrition
Don't understand why we care about nutrition as it relates to mental health? I got you. I'll teach you using simple explanations and real-life examples. Then, we'll explore why what we eat matters and why our thoughts about our food matter even more.
Burnout recovery
You're scared your workplace is contributing to burnout? Worried about team member turnover? Guess what? You can use nutrition to help support the stress response so you and your team feel less stressed.
I can't do anything about your due dates or toxic clients, but I can support your team in building resilience and increasing performance (both mental and physical) through food.
GI Nutrition
Very few conditions contribute to a felt sense of "suckage" like gastrointestinal ones do. Seriously, though, when was the last time you didn't worry about "disaster pants." I bet that was an amazing day! We'll talk about all things GI and how much symptom improvement we can get from employing our minds.
Trauma nutrition vs. trauma-informed nutrition
They aren't the same things. You can do all the "right" things with food but simultaneously do a great deal of harm. Let's talk about how we apply nutrition interventions that don't harm and instead support self-efficacy and growth.

You can watch the workshop I gave in November 2022 for the American Psychological Association on Overcoming Anxiety with Nutrition.
Nearly 30% of American adults report symptoms of anxiety. Psychologists have many tools to support those experiencing acute or chronic anxiety and related conditions. Nutrition and lifestyle can also offer important biochemical, emotional, and social benefits. This webinar will equip attendees with the knowledge to identify when a client's mental health is impacted by biochemical processes and practical tools for overcoming anxiety that can be incorporated into clinical practice.
This program is in collaboration with the American Nutrition Association. It is part of the Understanding Nutrition and Mental Health Series.
